The International Latino Book Awards has grown over the last 17 years to become the largest Latino literary and cultural awards in the USA. Over the years 1,914 authors and publishers have been honored for their work with Children's, Young Adult, Nonfiction, Fiction, eBooks, Design, Translation, and Best First Books.

They are produced by Latino Literacy Now, an organization co-founded by Edward James Olmos, Kirk Whisler and REFORMA (the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking) , affiliated to the ALA (American Library Association).

Since 1997, the International Latino Book Awards are announced annually at Book Expo America, the largest publishing trade show in the United States. At the moment there are 97 categories that include books published in English and Spanish, written by Latino, Hispanic and Chicano authors currently living in United States.

Edna Jackeline Vázquez Núñez (Author)

In The Races of My Life, Edna Jackeline Vázquez Núñez (Monterrey, Mexico) shares the life journey of an ultramarathoner, but also of a woman in the pursuit of freedom, self-determination, and love. She is the first Mexican American woman to conquer four of the globe’s fiercest deserts in South America, Asia, Africa, and Antarctica, growing stronger and wiser after each competition. The author wants to share her learning experiences and inspire the readers to chase their goals. This is a book that will appeal to both athletes and the general reader.
